Arabian Gulf Women's Championship

Women's rugby in the Gulf region continues to go from strength to strength,  from very humble beginnings with a handful of players scattered around the region, the Women's game now boasts an impressive eight team Championship, with several clubs also fielding development teams.

The Women's Championship is a Sevens series and sees a total of seven rounds played throughout the region over the course of the season.  Each event has an individual tournament winner with Championship points awarded for each team's final position in the tournament.

The 2008-09 Gulf Women's Champions were Abu Dhabi Harlequins who led the table from start to finish but had to withstand a very determined challenge from defending champions Dubai Hurricanes.
